Richard Ord

Richard runs his own business consultancy, established 15 years ago in the UK. The practice advises early-stage companies on strategy, business development and marketing to help them achieve their ambitions for growth.

“Once a start-up has got a product demo, passport and a presentation ready to take their innovation to market, that’s when they call on me……. If I’m honest, a year earlier would have been better!”

He began his career with Texas Instruments in the home computer boom (and bust), then established the wireless business at VLSI Technology, developing the world’s first GSM standard product chipset, and then rode the explosion of Bluetooth at Cambridge Silicon Radio.

The imaginatively named “Richard Ord Consulting Limited” is based near Cambridge, trading as "The Silicon Eye”, and working with companies in semiconductors, renewable energy and power. He’s a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge, and now applies that depth of experience to drive business growth.
