The Job

Eridan is currently building out our hardware engineering team, which is responsible for ongoing development work on our core technology: our switch-mode direct polar architecture radio for deployment into commercial wireless infrastructure. As a CMOS Verification and Validation Senior Engineer you will be responsible for validating the custom ASICs that are at the core of the radio system.

A successful CMOS Verification and Validation Engineer at Eridan will have strong technical and analytical skills and will be comfortable working and solving problems both independently and collaboratively within a team. We look for engineers with initiative and persistence, who ask questions, stick with tough technical challenges, and have good communication skills. In this role you will:

  • Determine root cause of problems (process or design-related)

  • Develop detailed test plans and write tests, run regressions, collect coverage matrices and report progress to the program

  • Determine test algorithms to target specific fail mechanisms

  • Run formal verification of complex blocks to ensure functional correctness

  • Debug initial silicon and validate design features

  • Implement a verification environment to facilitate testing of the RTL against reference MATLAB models

  • Provide verification support to Design Engineering teams by simulating, analyzing, and debugging pre-silicon full-chip and block-level designs

  • Assist product engineering teams with circuit and simulation support during post-silicon validation phase

Qualities of a successful candidate:

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in verification

  • Fluent understanding in CMOS circuit design

  • Knowledge of SystemVerilog, UVM principles, bash/shell scripting, MATLAB, and Git

  • Experience with Cadence Xcelium, Genus, and Innovus

  • Experience with writing software for embedded systems

Preferred capabilities/Nice to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital verification, preferably in communication systems

  • Familiarity with open source HDL tools such as Verilator and GHDL

  • Experience in the lab using instruments such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers

  • Knowledge of RF systems and DSP

  • Familiarity with RISC-V architecture
